"Two peas in a pod" - Rebekka (D) und Hannah (GB) über ihre Buddy experience
Wir baten Rebekka aus Mainz und ihren internationalen Buddy Hannah aus Großbritannien, folgende Sätze zu vervollständigen.

Rebekka: ... dachte ich mir, dass das ja ein Sonnenschein ist.
Hannah: I felt a great sense of relief and I saw that she was really smiley and friendly - we clicked immediately.
Das schönste Erlebnis mit meinem Buddy war, als… / The most beautiful experience with my Buddy was…
Rebekka: ... all unsere Treffen waren schön.
Hannah: ... for me it was the first time we met. We walked around the city and she pointed out lots of places of interest to me (most of which I visited at one time or another). It really meant a lot to me.
Das Buddy-Programm ist für mich… / For me, the Buddy program is...
Rebekka: ... eine tolle Möglichkeit, Personen aus anderen Kulturkreisen kennenzulernen.
Hannah: ... a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people from other cultures and to experience life through their eyes. I really feel that my buddy has helped to enrich my Erasmus year.
Ohne meinen Buddy… / Without my Buddy…
Rebekka: ... hätte ich nie erfahren, dass Trampolin springen ein Vereinssport ist und auch an der Uni angeboten wird.
Hannah: ... I would never have tried feta or goats cheese! I would have also been rather lost - both metaphorically and physically!
Mein Buddy und ich, wir… / My Buddy and I, we…
Rebekka: ... haben sehr viel gelacht!
Hannah: ... we laughed so much! We got along like two peas in a pod - I'm convinced she's my German sister.
Ein Moment mit meinem Buddy, den ich nie vergessen werde: / One moment with my Buddy I will never forget:
Rebekka: Die Verabschiedung, als ich gemerkt habe, wie gern ich sie gewonnen habe.
Hannah: The last time we met where we ate together and talked like two friends that have known each other for years. It was a beautiful perfect ending to a wonderful time abroad.
Und zum Abschluss: Was hat dir die Teilnahme am Programm gebracht? Wieso würdest du es anderen Studierenden weiterempfehlen? / Why did you like the program and why would you recommend it to other students?
Rebekka: Durch die Anmeldung zum Programm habe ich eine sehr liebenswürdige Person kennengelernt. Man kann andere Sprachen und andere Kulturen kennenlernen und seinen Horizont erweitern. :)
Hannah: It gave me a feeling of kinship in a country where I know nowhere and nobody. I felt welcome and immediately at ease and for that I am eternally grateful. I got to know more about the German way of life and about my buddy. I think that if anybody is dubious as to whether to join the buddy program I say go for it! If you get a buddy as fantastic as mine you'll have the greatest times together. There's nothing more comforting than knowing you have somebody to turn to.
