Around 6-7% of the students in Germany already have children. This is a special challenge for students because they mostly are in their first professional training.
Studierendenwerk Mainz has been offering all-day child care since 2011, so that parents can fully concentrate on their studies.
249 full-day places in three day care centers for children from the age of a few months to the age of starting school are available directly on campus for the parents.
It is important for us that each day care center with its own concept responds to the needs of the families in their special living conditions. We want to accept the children with their entire personality in a caring way, enhance their strengths and identify their potential in our day care centers. Parents studying should obtain general conditions that improve the opportunities for successfully completing their studies.
