Around six to seven percent of students in Germany have children. This can be a particular challenge while pursuing a degree. To enable parents to focus on their studies, Studierendenwerk Mainz has been offering full-day childcare since 2011.

In two daycare centres located directly on campus, 172 full-day childcare places are available for children from a few months of age until they start school.

It is important to us that each daycare centre, with its individual educational concept, responds to the needs of families in their particular life situations. In our daycare centres, we aim to support children as individuals, nurture their strengths and recognise their potential. We want to provide student parents with conditions that improve their opportunities for successful studies.
