Around six to seven percent of students in Germany already have children. This is a particular challenge for students, as most of them are in their first degree.
To enable parents to concentrate on their education, Studierendenwerk Mainz has been offering all-day childcare since 2011.
There are 172 full-day places available to parents in two daycare centers directly on campus for children aged from a few months to school age.
It is important to us that each of the daycare centers has its own concept to meet the needs of families in their particular life situations. In our daycare centres, we want to lovingly accept the children in their entire personality, develop their strengths and recognize their potential. Student parents should be provided with a framework that improves their chances of studying successfully.
