A campus: It's not far from the university campus around the central canteen to the university campus and the facilities there, such as Café K3. Perhaps you would like to enjoy your coffee in a different atmosphere?
All our canteens and cafeterias on campus serve the most important drink of everyday university life: daily coffee. Whether for breakfast or in between meals, you can also find tea, sandwiches, cakes, drinks, fruit and snacks in addition to coffee
The largest, cheapest and most varied offer on campus
Only the central canteen has the largest, cheapest and most varied selection on the entire campus. There is also plenty of seating so that everyone can find a place to eat without having to wait. It is therefore worth planning an hour's break in your timetable so that you can eat here. Today's lunch offer from the central canteen is on the menu!

In the central canteen, you can see the daily specials on the monitors in the foyer. A separate staircase leads to each of our counters.

From the morning until the afternoon, you will be served in our Mensaria in the Central Canteen building.
Hot drinks such as the daily coffee, cappuccino, latte and espresso.... Milk is available with 1.5% or lactose-free. Hot chocolate and tea are also available, as are chilled drinks in bottles to take away.
Sandwiches, the Ditsch pretzel, home-made ham and cheese sticks, our home-baked marble cake, nut corners and sweet pastries are all part of the standard range. Of course, many items are also vegan.
At lunchtime, there are three different hot dishes and pizza or börek as a snack. The vegan stew (large or small), beef or bockwurst and chips are always available, as is the salad buffet.
The cake display case with succulent cakes and tarts completes the offer. There is always a banana or an apple. The fruit is right next to the small sweets at the checkout. There is also an ice cream chest with various delicious ice cream flavors.

The first coffee, tea or cocoa can be accompanied by a sandwich or a coffee slice. All coffee specialties, including Sojacino, are of course available here during all opening hours.
In the Bambus canteen, we serve tasty meat-free vegan or vegetarian dishes from our “front cooking counter”. The salad buffet is a good alternative or a great addition to lunch.
Coffee, cakes and many other baked goods always taste good, whether for breakfast or afternoon coffee.
Delicious, cozy and simply nice
Canteen Rewi is there for you from breakfast until the afternoon.
Hot drinks such as coffee, tea, cocoa and bottled cold drinks are of course available throughout the day.
At lunchtime there is a bowl, a vegan and a meat dish and side dishes to choose from. The salad buffet rounds off the offer. Delicious pastries and cakes from breakfast to afternoon coffee.
Impressions from the Canteen Rewi
In addition to the great lounge atmosphere of Mensa Rewi, a great special feature is that the seating areas are freely accessible throughout the opening hours of the ReWi building. This makes it a great place to sit down with friends and enjoy a coffee from the vending machine in the basement when Mensa Rewi is already closed. You are welcome to enjoy the atmosphere of the seating areas, even when we are no longer there.
Every Wednesday from 6-8 p.m., the Studierendenwerk Mainz language café also takes place here. With 60 to 100 participants, there is always a lot going on here.
Cofffebar and Snacks at Philo
Fresh, fair and sustainable and catering for all tastes
The insgrüne opens its doors shortly before midday and is open for guests until the early evening.
The insgrüne serves a coffee speciality that is unique on campus. Only here are the beans from the Mainz coffee manufactory used for the coffee . When roasting the coffee beans, the local Mainz-based company favours gentle craftsmanship over fast, industrial processing. The coffee itself mostly comes from small farmers who are paid fairly in long-term co-operations and supported in the development of better health and education care locally. The coffee on offer ranges from café crème to cappuccino and latte.
Tea and cocoa are of course also available, as well as chilled drinks in bottles to take away.
A small hot lunch: Hot dogs, stew, chilli con carne or goulash soup are available from the hot bar. The paninis are freshly prepared for you.
Sandwiches, sweet coffee, fruit and cake are always available.
So why cook when I can eat here just as well? You can also take away. Or you may save food from 17:15-17:30 warm food is half price.
The insgrüne is intended to be a place to recharge your batteries and take a deep breath, inviting you to linger with its modern and cosy furnishings. The outdoor terrace in Philo's inner courtyard is designed to allow guests to take a break in the open air. Here they can soak up the sun in the greenery and enjoy snacks and drinks before heading back to university or home.
Café & lunch at Mainz University of Applied Sciences
To start the day, Café K3 naturally serves coffee and a wide selection of sandwiches and baked goods.
At lunchtime, there are daily changing hot meals from the canteen menu during the closure of the K3 canteen.
Sweets, fruit, pastries and much more are on offer to satisfy sugar cravings.
And in between, from 2:30 p.m., there is pizza, snack dogs (= baguette roll hot dogs), börek or other surprises.

At the food truck you can get daily changing specialties such as fries with curry sausage (with us also vegan!), burritos, chili cheese fries, chili (sin carne or con carne), burgers and onion rings with sour cream. We also conveniently bring the stews and vegetarian dishes on the current dining hall menu to your doorstep. Plus, of course, the popular salad bowls, bulgur salad and fruit salads in cups.
